In addition to teaching, you will advise students, participate in curriculum, and program development, participate in professional development, engage in and perform assessment activities, attend faculty and committee meetings, and more.

The Faculty position is 173 contract days (fall, winter, spring) with an anticipated start of September 2025. The Business Technology | Business Faculty reports to the Dean of Instruction. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online, hybrid, and in-person. The salary range is $75,160 to $97,409 based on education and experience. Please note the salary amount within this posting is reflective of the 2024-25 salary amounts and does not include any legislatively funded COLA for the 2025-26 year. For applicants relocating to the LCC's service district, we are able to provide up to $5,000 in relocation funds in accordance with our travel policies.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

Designing and instructing courses in a manner that promotes student engagement and success for a racially and culturally diverse student population spanning a broad range of languages, identities, socioeconomic levels, and educational experiences.

Collaborating with colleagues to identify and close equity gaps, particularly regarding race and ethnicity towards a goal of increasing student success and completion in all business programs.

Continuously innovating inclusive and active learning experiences (on campus, online, hybrid) in response to assessment and evidence/data analysis.

Advising students and serving as a peer resource for faculty and staff.

Contributing to a collaborative and innovative department, division, college, and district by serving on committees including in leadership roles and staying actively involved in institutional initiatives.

Keeping current in trends in the Business Technology industry, general Business fields, and Business education.

Engaging in professional development activities to advance educational knowledge and Professional-Technical skills

Provide support for department related activities in the Business Achievement Center and Small Business Development Center

Engaging in curriculum and program development incorporating current educational theories and research, particularly about serving marginalized and minoritized students

Conducting ongoing curricular development, assessment, and revision that promotes effective learning

Engaging in shared governance, including efforts to build an antiracist institution focused on action to advance access, retention, and success for our most marginalized and vulnerable students and employees

Collaborate with high schools to promote dual-credit pathways into the BTEC and Business programs.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- An MBA degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, General Business, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of recent, full time equivalent industry experience
- Three (3) years of higher education or K-12 teaching experience or relatable training experience
- Proven ability to teach Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM applications (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot)
- Commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to develop and teach undergraduate courses in utilizing business software technologies.
- Demonstrated success in instructing a wide range of learners, including adult learners, workers seeking retraining, or students seeking career changes, in both formal and informal settings.
- Demonstrated experience designing curriculum based on current and forward looking industry practices and/or conducting technical training
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and the academic community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in a community college, technical college, accredited trade school or as an industry trainer. Preference will be given to college teaching experience in Business Technology, Business or related discipline.
- Three (3) years of recent industry experience in office administration
- Expertise in medical office operations and/or health information management
- Certification in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with industry collaborations and k-12 partnerships.
- Doctoral degree in Business or a related field.
- Experience using technology to enhance student learning.
- Expertise in using a Learning Management System such as Canvas.
- History of working collaboratively with colleagues, teams, and other stakeholders to support educational growth and community building
- Ability to create or modify curriculum that supports diverse student populations, addresses equity gaps, and utilizes a variety of evidence-based active learning strategies, modalities, instructional technologies, and teaching methods
